Frequently asked questions.
What does EUD Design & Engineering do?
EUD is an architecture and engineering practice in Giza, Egypt, founded in 1990. One team covers architectural design, interior design, urban planning, electromechanical engineering and construction documents, and construction management, from the first sketch to site handover.
Where does EUD work?
Across Egypt. Most projects are in Greater Cairo (6th of October, Sheikh Zayed, New Cairo, Giza and the Cairo–Alexandria Desert Road), on the Red Sea and in Sinai (Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, El Gouna, Soma Bay, Dahab) and on the North Coast (El Alamein, Marassi, Ras El Hekma, Sidi Heneish, Alexandria, Marsa Matrouh). The studio has also worked in New Assiut, Aswan and the Delta.
What kinds of projects does EUD design?
Hospitality (resorts, hotels, spa and thalassotherapy centres), residential (gated communities, apartment buildings, private villas and apartments) and commercial (malls, business parks, medical centres and clinics). Of 104 projects on record, 46 are residential, 35 hospitality and 23 commercial.
How large are EUD's projects?
From single apartments and clinics of a few hundred square metres to masterplans of up to 966,000 m². For example: Green Heights Compound in 6th of October City (86 villa prototypes on 180,000 m²), Alexa Tower in downtown Alexandria (about 37,000 m²), Coral Sea Resort in Nabq (408 rooms on 200,000 m²) and the 550-room Savita Resort.
Does EUD only design, or also supervise construction?
Both. EUD provides site supervision and construction management, and the team that designs a project follows it on site through to handover.
Who are By Mai Studio and M Squared?
By Mai Studio is EUD's interior design subsidiary; together they have delivered projects such as Rush and The Spot in El Gouna and MADU at the Marriott Zamalek. M Squared Development Team has collaborated with EUD on seven projects, including 41 Business District in New Cairo and Masyaf at Ras El Hekma.
Which clients has EUD worked with?
Operators and developers including Hilton, Crowne Plaza, Sheraton, Mövenpick, Sol Meliá, SODIC, Palm Hills, Stella Makadi, Coral Sea, Amwaj, M2 Development and Egypt's Ministry of Housing.
How do I start a project with EUD?
Send a short brief through the Let's Talk page: the site and its location, the size in m², the programme and your timeline. You can attach drawings, photos or a PDF. A partner reads every brief, and the studio replies within two working days.
